Baking

I love cooking. Admittedly though, not the gourmet stuff. I mean i do cook the basics, experiment on them, and gobble them all. I guess my taste buds are simply ordinary. I make whatever there is that i can make with the available ingredients. I don't buy whatdyacallthem herbs, spices and what not. I invent. Hehehe

Unfortunately, when it comes to baking i'm kinda the dumb-dumb. That's why the moment i learned that ate Jo bakes cakes and pastries, I just wasn't able to stop myself from asking her to teach me. And so she did.

She invited me to her house to bake (or did she? hmmm). I shopped for the ingredients (Eaji and cakes?)--entering for the first time a confectionery shop (sniffing the oh-so-good smell of bars and bars of chocolate, gazing on the tons of sprinkles on the shelves, and drooling on the bags of choco chips waiting to be fetched by bakers) ,learning what butter compound is, and checking price differences between butters, sugars and milk.

Then we baked.

We sifted (thousands of times. HAHA!), we mixed, tasted, stirred, tasted, blended, tasted, folded, tasted, shaped, tasted, baked, then finally tasted again. hihihi. No wonder when the heavenly moist, scrumptuous cake came out of the oven, we really didn't want to taste it anymore. Hehehehe.

<<--- Still, i can't believe that i really baked this cake. Ang galing ni ate Jo magturo.

Then the cookies came. Grabe, sugar overload. Then, the frosting happened. And then the next thing you know we were already putting the frosting on the cake which was really hard to even out.

Natapos namin yung cake at around 6 pm just in time para dalin sa koro house for the judging or as ate Jo puts it, para sa mga guinea pigs hehehehe.

Kuyas Richard, Francis, and Darwin were ones who were lucky to taste our baking. Sori na lang sa mga di nakapunta.

Baking is really fun.

@@@

napaisip lang, ako. I met someone today and told her i wanted to be a teacher. Well, she suddenly talked about establishing my own school, looking for this 'company' of teachers who gets paid well and what not. Weird, i know there's this notion that teachers dont get rich. That's why as early as now i'm really saving up. I'm a dreaming nuts here?

SWISH and SWALLOW

Suffering from multiple mouthsores for two weeks, the 6-day vacation came as a big break. I was then able to get myself checked by a doctor, and get proper medication for the mouth sores.
(just to clear things, the source of the mouth sores weren't unsanitation, it was stress. hehehehe)

ASTIG! the doctor has this concoction of her own to treat the sores and it really was effective. yun nga lang, it really was bitter.

All you have to do is POUND a MYCOSTATIN tablet, open an antibacterial capsule, add 5 ml of CORTICOSTEROID syrup, then finally add tablespoon of water in a glass.

MIX THEM ALL!
SWISH (meaning gargle) and then SWALLOW!

The bitter taste will hunt you for minutes, humahagod sa throat yun nga lang walang kick di tulad ng beer. hehehehe. At least it's byebye to pain and discomfort.

DISCLAIMER: dude, syempre i-consult mo muna kay doc bago to subukan

sabi ng malapit kong kaibigan, "breath JM, breath."

Napaisip ako.

Paano ba huminga?

TURUAN nIYO NAMAN AKO mag-basketbol

LEARNING of the day:

BAWAL PALA KUMANTA NG MARIAN SONG SA COMMUNION kahit na SOLEMNITY of the Assumption of the blessed virgin mary. Sori po, ngayun ko lang nalaman.

Nomadic MOUTH SORE

can't eat properly with this freakin stress-related mouth sores ( i mean tongue sores).

I guess it became worse 'cause i spent the night with Jo at Jolibee philcoa to study for exams last monday night. I actually was a bit nomadic that night, i even had a bath the next morning in my orgmate's boarding house. Pulubi talaga eheheh.

It was worth it anyways, i was able to finish the test in EDSP 101 with an 80% gut feeling that i did well sa exam. heheheh. 1st tym ko na-prove that coffee really works (plus a bit of mushy talk which really waked me up- c jo kasi), tea guy nga kasi ako.

...

minsan medyo info overload
minsan nakakabagabag
minsan masakit
hehehehe weird
wala lang naman

got a 1.75 in our first exam in EDTEG 101, not bad though i did miss some questions that were discussed during the first 2 days of the class. Where was I then? ayun nakaupo sa corridor at nagiintay na tanggapin ako sa klase. PREROG nga naman. kaya di ko nasagot.

ENV SCI 1 at EDSP 101 exams on monday and tuesday resoectively, good thing there are no classes on friday for whatever reason PGMA has on her mind. Weird.

HAy. Nakakapagod. Bad trip.

Kelan kayo mag-ma-mature ang aking Faith?

PYM Rummage Sale

I'm slowly feeling at home in our parish--Parish of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Maximising on my minsitries (i mean GOd's), i'm volunteering in multiple activities to spend more time in the church. Well, since i'm a such a sinner (sobra) i really feel safe in the Lord's house, it's as if He lessens my self-condemnation and guilt when I'm under His roof. Still, nakaka-guilty pa rin since HE still accepts me despite all the things I do.

Anyway, i just feel safe in our parish. Really.

Well, earlier, after my sunday assignment as a lector, I went straight to our rummage sale (a fund raising for the PYM). We were able to sell Php 1,700 worth of clothes and bags among others on the first 4 hours since we opened. Then had to pack-up at around 11 am to eat lunch sincee there are no masses from 10-4 pm, translating to no customers. We'll be setting up again later at around 5 pm. Heheheh sana mas marami benta.

What was weird though was that I obviously don't have any experience in selling clothes.
Imagine this: someone bought 5 pieces of clothing. Then after computing for its total, I did a stupid thing. I handed all the clothes to the customer without folding the clothes and without even putting it in a plastic bag. Kahiya talaga. Umangal sya syempre. Hehehehe.

HEHEHE. Anyways got to read at praktis na mamayang 2 ng Koro.

LORD sorry na talaga. Tapos uulit na naman ako. Sori

higad

Went for a swim yesterday and did laps (kahit na di ko pa rin perfect ang backstroke hehehe)

week's end

FIRST FIRST FRIDAY MASS

1st friday mass last night syempre kumanta ang UPSCA. ANg saya. Nakapag-exposition pa kami kaya double happiness (yung stop-over place sa pampanga hehehe).

'stig lang talaga, pero dahil pasaway ako at di ako nag-aral ng piyesa, nanghula lang ako. At isa pa, ang hirap magshift from bass sa isang choir tapos TENOR sa isa pang choir. Ayan. Sali kasi ako ng sali kung saan-saan.
____________
Still, guys masama ba talaga ang _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _?

____________
Ang HOMILY kagabi was about getting out of your circle-of-friends and comfort zones to share God's love.

wala lang. last year tinamaan na ako nito, this year tinamaan na naman ako, at the same priest pa ang nag-homily nun. Weird.

____________
Also started my 6 am-every-saturday-of-July Lector duties sa Parish of the Five Wounds . 12 pa namana ako nakatulog kagabi buti na lang nagising ako heheheh.

Slamat Lord.

Random thoughts

God's Gift

Did my first assignment as a Lector earlier at the 7:30 am mass. Syempre scary, fortunately I really listened to the monsignor in the 1-and-a-half day seminar last june 16-17 making me understand what this ministry is all about.

Felt queasy at the start of the mass, a bit self-conscious, but knowing that this ministry is all about sharing God's word (in my case leading the faithul in prayer), i felt calm at once.

Only recently did I understand the SERIOUSNESS of the lectors' and Commentators' role in the mass, realize that the lectern actually is the AMBO, which I didn't know was a higly sacred place (Eucharistically speaking), and know the ministry's dos and donts. AT least i did learn about them. Facts of tradition in the church are refreshing to one's faith you know. Now its not just for the sake of attending mass, it's bit by bit understanding how beautiful the Holy Eucharist is. (love talaga tayo ni God)
pics from the seminar: With my teacher in 6th grade, Tchr. Stephen (one w/ the eyeglasses). Weird. Parang kelan lang he was teaching me about catholicism and its ministries, now I'm with him in one of the ministries.

Pic of the officers of the
Lectors and Commentators Guild:
and our quirky-lovable-"WISE" parish priest Fr. Romulo Bertoni
Weird rin kasi iba talaga world ng adults serving the Lord from the Youth. medyo issues and gossip are there but still, i thank God na I am already exposed to different ministries. Masaya naman e!
Learning to adjust means learning more about yourself. do the link :p

educ

I'm on my third week on my third year of college...

i didn't get admitted to Speech Pathology (which sucked BIG time) so i'm still in UP Diliman with no course and on the verge of getting kicked out from the campus for not having any college to house me. Bad.

The good thing is, i got only one course left that i really want--Education. I've tried all the courses i want and i am left with this one. After years of denying that i want to be teacher, i guess i will be afterall.

I currently have three EDUC subjects--putting on my "carreer" face, reciting as much as i can, doing advance reading and what not. I actually am enjoying them since I grew up with a school beside my house anyways. I am slowly understanding what i have been observing my entire life.

I do want to be teacher. But i wanted to specialized in speech first. Well. at least my speech comm VS speech Path dilemma is so out of my head. whcih is kinda cool.

Im still not sure if i will be accepted to educ by next year, but i guess God did place me where I am now. Konting faith pa and prayer. He won't forsake me no matter how much of a sinner i am.

UPSCA CS Training

June 23-24

Anton Pascual) kaya masaya talaga.

Wedding Blues

MAY 18

Let the pictures speak for the things i did in the wedding where we played music!

Pollwatching

MAY 14
since i wasn't able to register for the recent elections because of misinformation, i promised God that I would voluteer as a pollwatcher with the Parish Pastorla Council for responsivle Voting (PPCRV). It really was quite an experience--exciting and scary really.

@Got to argue with other pollwatchers from different
parties who were way older than me (grabe, intimidating)

@pointed out mistakes the BEI wasn't aware they were doing
(which was really humbling cause they were
supposed tobe the ones who knows the procedure)

@Checked the voters if they were really voting right
(cause some didnt even know what to do)

@ got to help other voters lookig for their precints

@ really guarded the ballot box

@ and double-checked the counting of the votes (many arguments here)

It started at 6:30 AM and ended at around 11:30 PM, but believe me since i was doing it for God I didn't feel any exhaustion or what not during the pollwatch cause He saved me from it.

Even if i was the only Youth PPCRV volunteer in our barangay, i did enjoy the experience.
I did sleep soundly that night, cause i really was happy.

Thank God!

Jesus Freak

Someone called me a "Jesus Freak" this week.

It felt good to hear--really cool. But the next split-second made me realize that i should be ashamed for basking in the pride from being called as such 'cause heck i'm so far from being one. I'm simply a JC Freak wannabe. I 'd give anything though to be one. But with my weak will and flesh, its gonna be heck of a ride.

Its just nice to know that I have JC to back me up.
as Psalm 47:10 sings: "Be still and know that I am GoD..."

Yup, i'll try to stay still for you God.

...................
I can't believe MaVS got eliminated at the first round of the playoffs, wasting their 67-15 record during the season. pure crap. It just won't sink in me that i don't have a team to watch out for in the remaining rounds. Poor Dirk. My 6th year suporting mavs, so i guess i'll just have to wait for another year.
...................

we also watched siderman 3 on its opening day, and whoa! SM southmall has it in all of its 10 cinemas. The movie didn't have that big an impact on me though.

Baguio: 28, 29 April

Saturday.

First stop: Good Shepherd
bought 10 jars of peanut brittle and 6 jars of Ube. Yum-yum!
Poor me, my mom had to send me back to our place cause the goods were heavy to hand carry. Anyone wanna carry boxes?

Next Stop: Mine's View

Went sight-seeing (duh. View?). Actually all we saw were roofs of houses.
...paid to rent the Igorot dress and had a picture of us in them taken. Cool. except for the fact that people kept on passing by as some of the shots were being taken. kulet!

also went shopping at the stores surrunding Mine's view. Was able to buy a narra chess set, a wooden bracelet, a straw hat (which i like best) and 4 sling shots for my cousins.

Last Stop: Tam-awan Village

A miniature Ifugao village which was a very nice place. With genuine houses of Igorots (which you can actually rent and sleep in), a bamboo bridge, a small treking trail, and artworks of artists (i'm so sorry i don't even know anyone of them) and people having their portraits drawn in charcoal and their bodies henna tatooed, there were many thing to photograph. And that's what i did actually--I took and took photos of everything.

check our family's blog to see more pictures http://delapazchronicles.multiply.com

Dinner: syempre SM Baguio

ate at Teriyaki boy. We were at first seated outside at the balcony but decided to request for a table inside 'cause it was freezing cold. buti na lang. Had TB chicken teriyaki, chicken teriyaki ramen, and yakimeshi.

(burp).

NEXT DAY: We went home, it drizzled at the start of the trip, but the rest of the trip was just fine. Thank GOD!

bagiuo: 27 April

Just got home last night from baguio. The trip was fun and freezing as always but was relatively hotter than the last time we went up three years ago.

We, again, lodged at the AJ's penion house in Jungle town road--a small and affordable, cozy place near the Baguio Cathedral. Plus, there's a piano in the basement so i really lke it there.

We arrived at around 7 am, but we were not to check into our rooms until 12 noon so we just decided to go to SM Baguio to kill some time. When we got back to the house, there wasn't really much to do. For one, my dad wasn't able to register my name as an assitant to the convention (which was dissappointing), so i had to find other ways to spend my time.

Learning from the receptionist that the daily mass in the Baguio Cathedral wasn't until 5 pm, I simply slept until about 4:30 for i didn't really slept well on the bus. It was a breezy and cold afternoon walk to the Cathedral but was nevertheless refreshing beacasue of the new sceneries (not to mention the will-make-you-pant, up-hill slopes).

The cathedral was simple and beautiful as i last saw it 3 years ago; plus, its color pink, in a misty, gray background, was very calming. I participated in the Holy Eucharist and then went home afterwards.

That night, i couldn't as usual so at around 10 pm i went again for a walk around town then sat on a bench near the park. I was enjoying the chill of the breeze but when i saw gangsters running (so i heard),I guessed it was trouble, so I decided to go back to the pension house.
Then i slept.
