hearty breakfast

Bless us O Lord...

Suspended classes almost instantly means a hearty breakfast with your family
Of course I went home from my boarding house last night when i heard that classes are to be suspended today. i was studying at the lib for a couple of quizzes the next day when i heard the news so imagine what relief i had felt!)

and these thy gifts...

so this mornin', we made sure we had a hearty breakfast. And oh boy did we. Burgers, hotdogs, sausages, lettuce, tomatoes, cucmbers, salad, oranges, wheat bread, pan de sal, and ice-cold tea.

which we are about to receive...

and then there was none. as in no food left after eating. So much for my Rodic's breakfast sa UP. iba talaga kapag lutong nahay at luto mo pa! (though fried lang ehehe)

from thy bounty...

Thank God, 4 days of study time or not.

And thank God, the rain hasn't come yet. A calamity right after a hearty breakfast isn't hearty at all.

trough Christ, our Lord...

Do we even have the right to enjoy a storm-caused suspension of classes while bringing disaster to many others?

Amen.

G-pass

In lieu of the MRT cards, Globe came up with a chip called the G-pass that will turn MRT commuters ticketless. It debuted last July 2006 but was limited to AYALA_CUBAO trips. Finally, it is now available in all stations. So I got one for myself last wednesday to try and check its perks and "mis-perks." Here are my insights:

Perks:

1. RE-LOADABLE
The chip is reloadable through G-Cash or plain cash via G-pass booths

2. PRACTICAL
Unlike the MRT stored value card which costs a 100 bucks, you can load the G-pass with an amount good for a single journey if you don't have the money. A minimum of 10 bucks can be bought from the G-pass booths (tough you have to pay an initial 100 bucks for the chip alone woth a 50 bucks statring load).

3. HASSLE-FREE
The G-pass booths are line-free (primarily 'cause it isn't that in demand yet). So if you are in a hurry you can use your pre-loaded G-pass or you can easily reload it via the booths instead of waiting in line or cramming coins into the crappy vending machine.

4. USER-FRIENDLY
Using the G-pass is so easy. Just simply put it face down on the chip reader and your good to go. No need t0 decide or opt for a trial and error in determining which is the right way to use the MRT cards (especially those without any arrow on it).

5. COOL
It is kinda cool 'cause your one of the few ones using the techie chip instead of the old-school magnetic cards. Plus, in the near future, you would be able to use the chip to do transactions with stores who will have had adapted the G-pass system by then.

Mis-perks:

1. TOO SMALL
can be easily misplaced, dropped, lost or even stolen. I dropped mine and it rolled in the station. too much shame running around for it.

2. CARD READER DEPENDENT
if the card readers are down, so are you. There is no way for you to use the G-pass chip for it doesnt share the MRT's main system.

3. MORE EXPENSIVE
in using the G-pass chip, you are cursed with a 5% increment placed on the usual MRT fares.
For instance: TAFT Ave to Quezon Ave
--usual cost: 15 pesos
--G-pass cost: 15.75

4. NO BONUSES
Unlike the stored value MRT cards, you won't get any bonus rides. Once you are under 20 bucks you won't be able to use the G-pass.

I realized, sticking to MRT cards is fine, though having a G-pass in your pocket won't hurt either. So why don't you try it?

sem starter

Attended a recollection yesterday at Ateneo's school of theology with UPSCA

Learned about the napping prayer

it felt really good

especially with the hassles of enrollment and Life actually

hindi pa rin ako enrolled

too bad

12 Units pa lang

Desperate for a subject

I need an MST

sana graduating na lang ako

hehehhehe

shifting is risky, guess one has to take that risk to get to where one wants to go

Top 6 TV series

The break meant a chance to turn into a couch and a mouse potato. These are the series"es" I've watched over the DVD, the tube and Youtube:

1. Smallville (Current season 6)

Thanks to YouTube i am able to watch the latest season and latest episode of smallville where the JUSTICE LEAGUE is starting to show. Great!

2. House MD (Seasons 1 and 2)

-being right is great, being right always sucks
-Great and diverse characters from a
very sarcastic know-it-all-alwyas-
right to an ex-seminarist
-medical cases are very good

3. Lost (seasons 1 and 2)
the plot is so great you'll get hooked to it. plus the characters are very interesting. then again evangeline lily is just the bomb (maybe because she likes palawan, lived here in the Philippines for 4 weeks in a nipa hut, and is a missionary hehehe)

4. Amazing Race (current season 10)

new challenges and a new twist: "Intersection" and great places such
as Mauritius and Madagascar. Now down to 5 teams.
My money's on the Asian brothers.

5. Prison Break (season 1)

Stories about Fatherly and brotherly love. teaches strategies to get out of a precint hehehe
Great twists in the plot though it is starting to become a drag since the BREAk from the prison is all you'll want to see.

6. Grey's Anatomy (seasons 1 and 2)

Good characters and nice plot though the
love team totally sucks, is way too cheesy and is plainly dumb.
Sex just plays a big part in the show and I don't really find it amusing cause the skin exposure is so minimal hahaha.

..................

Back to school tomorrow and i still don't feel like it...
will only last for 27 days and I'm back to mouse and couch potatoeing...
just got my November reader's digest issue...

ciao!
