Natapos ko na ang simbang gabi!
Kumpleto!

Emanuel (SATB)
Magnificat (all that i am...)

Shopping bummer

Did some Christmas shopping with my family in Glorietta kanina.

Then my new dilemma appeared when a crewman in the mall accidentally toppled a drinking glass in display. Understanding that it was an instant deduction from his wage, i felt a little bothered by the fatc that even if it wasn't intentional he has to pay it with his I-guess-not-so-big a salary. Messiahanic complex ata.
I wanted to purchase the broken glass instead.

(Eto nga pala yung exact same thing na nabasag nung crewman, chineck ko kasi after hehe: 275.75 bucks)

Then i remembered from one of UPSCA's cells that we have no right to feel pity for anyone 'cause we have no idea of the big picture which only God knows. I guess feeling pity for whoever is very condescending so its a way of being judgemental.

i dunno.

Dilemma nga e.

Ayun, christmas shopping can really be a bummer hehee.

SIMBANG GABI NA

Before UPSCA's misfortune (any better word for it?)
Medyo late na rin umalis ang UPSCAns' from Tracy's house after our Christmas party

kaya nag-decide kami ni ate bhey na to just stay and hear the first of the dawn masses in the church nearby.

Ate tracy's family was so welcoming, lalo na yung ate niya who let me ride the cool swing beside the church, hehehe salamat po!

The church was greatly lit with all the chandelier and the christmas lights. ANg ganda. Even the homily was great plus the pianist was good (i even got some tricks form her) hehehe

God's Will? UPSCA's shocking simbang gabi

I definitely have no intention to be blasphemous,
I merely want to wonder about things incapabale of full comprehension...

unbelievable, after UPSCA's Christmas party at Tracy's place, Kuya Jaaf's van got mobbed-- right after the 4:30 am simbang gabi in UP. the culprit, whoever he is, stole about 300, 000 bucks worth of things from UPSCAns who left their stuff inside the van.

Grabe! I can't imagine how awful it felt for those whose things got stolen, pero still i did feel how depressing it was in the tambayan. Imagine: laptops, cameras, cellular phones, BAGs (great=C ), book/s from the library, 11,000 pesos worth of caroling money (including the money the Mel and Joey show gave UPSCA's himig for rendering a song in the show-- will be aired on the 24th), and even PLASTIC WATER GUNS.

Sure, I wasn't one of those who were mobbed but still it is definitely not good to see orgmates you just spent a happy time with in a very deporessed state.

Thanks to Father J-boy who comforted us with a few but comforting words. Thanks po FAther for the water and the company!

So, what some of us did was to stay in the tambayan to at least provide companionship even witout big talks whatsoever.

we stayed at banigs we placed at the entrance of the tambayan just to relax and let go of some of the tension--played some v-ball, did some floor exercises.

Wala lang. Dumamay lang.

here are some pics of what we did to let the incident sink in.

FAther Jboy talaga! heehehe thanks po

Some more angles: A simple way of UPSCA to deal with life's challenges, Ang blackhole talaga nga naman, through think and thin

BUT at the end of the day i still wondered:
Did God will this to happen?

I do not blame the ALmighty for what misfortune my orgmates experienced.

I am simply wondering how God played His part in the incident.

For I personally thank the Lord for happiness and success, I just want to also accept challenges and difficulties and learn to thank Him for it.

No blasphemy and blaming intended.

hearty breakfast

Bless us O Lord...

Suspended classes almost instantly means a hearty breakfast with your family
Of course I went home from my boarding house last night when i heard that classes are to be suspended today. i was studying at the lib for a couple of quizzes the next day when i heard the news so imagine what relief i had felt!)

and these thy gifts...

so this mornin', we made sure we had a hearty breakfast. And oh boy did we. Burgers, hotdogs, sausages, lettuce, tomatoes, cucmbers, salad, oranges, wheat bread, pan de sal, and ice-cold tea.

which we are about to receive...

and then there was none. as in no food left after eating. So much for my Rodic's breakfast sa UP. iba talaga kapag lutong nahay at luto mo pa! (though fried lang ehehe)

from thy bounty...

Thank God, 4 days of study time or not.

And thank God, the rain hasn't come yet. A calamity right after a hearty breakfast isn't hearty at all.

trough Christ, our Lord...

Do we even have the right to enjoy a storm-caused suspension of classes while bringing disaster to many others?

Amen.

G-pass

In lieu of the MRT cards, Globe came up with a chip called the G-pass that will turn MRT commuters ticketless. It debuted last July 2006 but was limited to AYALA_CUBAO trips. Finally, it is now available in all stations. So I got one for myself last wednesday to try and check its perks and "mis-perks." Here are my insights:

Perks:

1. RE-LOADABLE
The chip is reloadable through G-Cash or plain cash via G-pass booths

2. PRACTICAL
Unlike the MRT stored value card which costs a 100 bucks, you can load the G-pass with an amount good for a single journey if you don't have the money. A minimum of 10 bucks can be bought from the G-pass booths (tough you have to pay an initial 100 bucks for the chip alone woth a 50 bucks statring load).

3. HASSLE-FREE
The G-pass booths are line-free (primarily 'cause it isn't that in demand yet). So if you are in a hurry you can use your pre-loaded G-pass or you can easily reload it via the booths instead of waiting in line or cramming coins into the crappy vending machine.

4. USER-FRIENDLY
Using the G-pass is so easy. Just simply put it face down on the chip reader and your good to go. No need t0 decide or opt for a trial and error in determining which is the right way to use the MRT cards (especially those without any arrow on it).

5. COOL
It is kinda cool 'cause your one of the few ones using the techie chip instead of the old-school magnetic cards. Plus, in the near future, you would be able to use the chip to do transactions with stores who will have had adapted the G-pass system by then.

Mis-perks:

1. TOO SMALL
can be easily misplaced, dropped, lost or even stolen. I dropped mine and it rolled in the station. too much shame running around for it.

2. CARD READER DEPENDENT
if the card readers are down, so are you. There is no way for you to use the G-pass chip for it doesnt share the MRT's main system.

3. MORE EXPENSIVE
in using the G-pass chip, you are cursed with a 5% increment placed on the usual MRT fares.
For instance: TAFT Ave to Quezon Ave
--usual cost: 15 pesos
--G-pass cost: 15.75

4. NO BONUSES
Unlike the stored value MRT cards, you won't get any bonus rides. Once you are under 20 bucks you won't be able to use the G-pass.

I realized, sticking to MRT cards is fine, though having a G-pass in your pocket won't hurt either. So why don't you try it?

Top 6 TV series

The break meant a chance to turn into a couch and a mouse potato. These are the series"es" I've watched over the DVD, the tube and Youtube:

1. Smallville (Current season 6)

Thanks to YouTube i am able to watch the latest season and latest episode of smallville where the JUSTICE LEAGUE is starting to show. Great!

2. House MD (Seasons 1 and 2)

-being right is great, being right always sucks
-Great and diverse characters from a
very sarcastic know-it-all-alwyas-
right to an ex-seminarist
-medical cases are very good

3. Lost (seasons 1 and 2)
the plot is so great you'll get hooked to it. plus the characters are very interesting. then again evangeline lily is just the bomb (maybe because she likes palawan, lived here in the Philippines for 4 weeks in a nipa hut, and is a missionary hehehe)

4. Amazing Race (current season 10)

new challenges and a new twist: "Intersection" and great places such
as Mauritius and Madagascar. Now down to 5 teams.
My money's on the Asian brothers.

5. Prison Break (season 1)

Stories about Fatherly and brotherly love. teaches strategies to get out of a precint hehehe
Great twists in the plot though it is starting to become a drag since the BREAk from the prison is all you'll want to see.

6. Grey's Anatomy (seasons 1 and 2)

Good characters and nice plot though the
love team totally sucks, is way too cheesy and is plainly dumb.
Sex just plays a big part in the show and I don't really find it amusing cause the skin exposure is so minimal hahaha.

..................

Back to school tomorrow and i still don't feel like it...
will only last for 27 days and I'm back to mouse and couch potatoeing...
just got my November reader's digest issue...

ciao!

bloo-blah entries

the laziness in me killed my supposedly blog entries for this sem-break so here are some late entries:

26 October 2006

met up with some of my high school friends for our friend, Karen's, despidida (did i get that right?) since she is living for United Kingdom tomorrow.

I just hate changes. Since Karen's migrating is a big change, I hate Karen. hehe

We ate at Karated Kid, had a hearty talk, went to GBOX for some videoke, talked some more, then walked along P. Faura, then said our goodbyes at the Faura-UN intersection.

Aaaahhh. Bye Karen we sure gonna miss you. Say hello to Emma Thompson for me heheheh. See you 1o years from now!

20 October 2006

I went to PETA and watched a play entitled DON_Q (which was a last minute requirement for theater 100).

It was kinda cool an adaptation of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote. This time, instead of books giving Don Quioxte his surreal life as a knight, online gaming gave DON_Q a hyper reality life as a knight.

Direted by Chris Millado, majority of the play was improvised with no script at all. With the young thespians developing their characters as the story itself developed, it was amazing, though it wasn't the first of its kind (talk about Italy's Comedia dell'Arte:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commedia_dell).

Finished my last papers for the sem. hooya! thanks to eks for kindly offering that he print my papers instead of going back to UP again hehehe.

18 October 2006

I finally start my series marathon! In line are the following:
1. Lost seasons 1 and 2
2. House MD seasons 1 and 2
3. Prison Break season 1
4. Smallville seasons 1-5
5. Grey's Anatomy seasons 1 and 2

Hope to finish them before classes start again.
17 October 2006

I can't believe that a YOU TUBE guy sent me the entire music sheet of 100 years by ONDRASIK 5 hours after I emailed him for it. Great guy really!

So just email me if you want the 100 years Free music sheets

went ot UP, coming from Las Pinas, just to pass a late paper hehehehehe. Shitty waste of time. haha!

16 October 2006

Cramming 2 MLA papers...

CLUEDO

Went to our lola's house earlier to celebrate her birthday (HAPPY BDAY LOLA)

Then, went to greenhills to buy whatever things (syempre kasama yung tiangge)

Checked books on Naustic gospels and Satanism (found several but were way expensive) sa Fully Booked tapos ate while listening to the Yamaha Disklavier (a piano which records then instant saves, plays different instruments, allows you to play while being accompanied by a grand orchestra and—the coolest yet hehehe--can PLAY ON ITS OWN.

Here’s the link:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=uM-JDDGupIE

Then went to, what became an instant fave shop (next to Maxi Toy Lab and United Toys syempre ), Hobbes and Landes. Weird.

Sa Hobbes and Landes I was able to buy Clue/Cluedo at last ‘cause this time I had the money and there was the shop. After mga 8 years of wanting it, it’s just now that luck sided with me (Once I had the money—out of stack; No money—game was available).

here are some pics:

BROWnies are OUT

29 Setyembre

PAALAM MILENYO!.

Me? A teacher?

Teaching catechism to a wee bit 40++ students and 4 incredible UPSCA applicants are what I have been doing this sem basically. And I have this feeling i want to teach forever.

Teaching needs studying.

but duh?

Exactly what to teach?

just can't seem to find the drive to study
(t'is what you get for not really knowing what you would like to do in life (hay))

Who cares anyway?

ME, silly.
...

Another debate transpired in our tambayan. And it was boys' stuff actually, about "killing the kittens" more specifically. HAHAHAHA! (What the?)

Hope you get what killing the kittens means.

...

Team leader training tomorrow for our barrio work this sembreak.
tapos, inter-sca sa Sunday (yehey volleyball time!)
...

Got to meet 2 PSBA SCA mems kanina sa Applicants-sponsored Friday Activity.

Grabe from Camp Crame to Las Pinas--45 minutes!

He dodged, overtook, overpassed, honked, and dirty-fingered his way on the road. Cool. Grabe. Astig talaga. Being that I was sitting upfront, it was like watching Need For Speed Most Wanted in its FLESH pare. Astig talaga. The rush was awesome. Of course my mom hated the driver, no surpirise at that (very typical of moms, really).
.....

Had a bible debate with Kuya Ron and kuya Joms of UPSCA.
Enjoyed it.
"Why Catholicism?", basically.
.....

Busy days ahead...

1. UPSCA Team leader training (Saturday)
2. Ateneo SCA VS PSBA SCA VS UP SCA (Sunday)
3. Catechism at Cell every wednesday (Tomorrow pala yun hehehe)
4. Latin Translation (Thursday)

Week's End

As usual, to be able to get to Park Square terminal a late walk around glorietta ended my week. hehe. But suddenly i felt that the person walking towards me seems familiar (Ok so not towards me, simply coming from the opposotie direction). But of all artists who woud have thought that I would see Ogie Diaz in person. I bet my roomates gonna freak when he hears this. hehehe. Weird, gustong gusto niya si Ogie Diaz. hehehe

How I wish I saw any other artist instead.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::

My family went to the 27th Manila Int'l Book Fair last Sunday and like the previous ones it was heaven.

ironically, i didn't buy any "reading" book. But i I did buy a book (2 books actually) of course, however it was 2 music scores--Alicia Keys' unplugged and a mass-songs book. They were so not cheap that i ended up not being able to buy any other book. Pero enjoy naman. Exact music notes at last! Para naman for change, hindi puro intro ng songs (care of musicnotes.com) ang alam ko heheeheh

:::::::::::::::::::::::

not fairing well in Latin calls for desperate measures. And that's exactly what I did.

I crossed dress.

In a pink-tightshittyfitting gown

For I was the virgin sacrifice to a roman godess

HAHAHA!

Fortunately, our prof liked it so much that we got the highest possible score. Ata

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Happy Birthday Mama Mary!

C is for chocolates

mouth-watering reese's--ka-adik!

A YM chat just reminded me of my all-time-second-favorite chocolate in the world (next to snickers classic at least).

I'm not a chocloate fanatic, i can barely finish a cup pf reese's what more a bar of snickers. I just wasn't born with a sweet tooth. But still, giving you my top 7 all-time favorite chocloates is still interesting i suppose. Do i even have the right to have an all-time favorite chocolate list despite my not having a sweet tooth?

1. Snickers classic

2. Reese's peanut butter cups

3. Kitkat chocolate wafers

4. Hershey's Barnone

5.Choc-nut

6. Meiji Macadamia

7. Other Meiji choclates- simply because my dad always brought these chocolates from Japan whenever he had office work there when i was still a kid (pero syempre available na 'to in all leading supermarkets nationwide hehehe).

Anyway ayan na yun... Hope you salivate (yak!) hehehe

A Con of boarding

I'm actually getting the hang of boarding now, but still i miss a more regular basis of blogging (Especially how the month of August is killing me hehehehe).

Hecks Hezbollahs, and Hamas

Friday PM
I just came home from my new boarding house. Astig diba? "Nag-bo-board" na ako. ehhehehe

Participated in 3 tambay debates last night up to 9 pm and i sucked big time. My standings were like 3rd to last. Heck how am i gonna pass?

Met up with an orgmate and introduced me to Alice's carinderia or sometin in Krus na Ligas where we ate (fried chix, mongo and rice) before i went back to the boarding house. All my roomates were out so i basically was home alone.

Saturday AM

Now I am reviewing matter for our first graded debate on wednesday--talk about Hezbollahs and Hamas. Hope to get a high grade or to simply just pass.

Sunday

Adik! Kahapon nga buong araw e. Nakakatakot at nakakakaba.

1st: Oppositon Whip
2nd: Member of the Oppositon
3rd: 2nd speaker of the Opposition (asian)

Buddy bidding

UPDS's buddy bidding is finished at last. I and my partner was able to get a buddy who is free to train at 4 pm onwards. Plus, he was said to be matter loaded. The con is he doesn't have any tournament experience (if i understood it right from the buddy profile).

In the bidding, our strategy was to establish a big increment in the bid. So after a 500 bid we raised it automatically to 2 grand. Wala nang kumagat--not sure if it was a good thing or not. Any ways, Kuya Louie is our new buddy. At least ours was one of the cheapest bids. bargain daw.

What was frustrating was that i didn't know that a mem ate who was my dream buddy (more of a fantasy buddy ehehhe)" was up for bids. Sayang! I didn't realize (kasi naman) that nicknames are not always obvious in people's names.

So that's that.

We have our buddy.

We're going to train. Now its up to us to get inducted as org members--meaning readings and mirror practice Hope so we do

Wrong Shoes

I woke up and got ready. I took a bath, ate nuggets and fried rice, brushed my teeth, picked a red Dr. Martens shirt, pulled onto a polo black shorts, wore my blue jacket, slid on my socks, and then tied my tribal chucks--wrongo! The worst mistake ever.

I totally forgot about the rain. So (without any hard thinking required) even before my sister and i reached the tricycle station in our village, my feet were already wet. I can't believe that i didn't even think about the fact that shorts and chucks on a rainy day is the worst get-up one could be in. With gravity and the storm againsts you, your shorts, and your chucks; your feet are in one major-wet threat.

So, i had no choice but to buy a pair of flip-flops in SC. But imagine, i had to wait an entire 3 hours of wet feet galore before i even changed into dry footwear. Yuck. I mean YACk! And to think that it was apps welcome both in UPSCA (where i'm a resident memeber if ya didn't notice) and UPDS wher I'm currently an applicant.

Fortunately they, my feet, dried up before I went to the UPDS's apps orientation.

Then I went home despite the raging sotrm and the harsh winds. Imagine me wobbling in quezon av's MRT sation's escalator because of the wind. If you just saw me. My umbrella even obtained a fracture. Poor umbrella.

Of coure my day had its happy moments prior to my blogging it. And the happiest part of my day was the fact that i went to 2 pakains! How lucky could i get. hehehe. Maybe I should sign up for more orgs to statisfy my tummy.

Any ways, i think i'll stay hungry forever.

Happy metabolism!

Join UPSCA

May komedi at drama at kakulitan. Kaya lang medyo gamit na ata ang style kaya sub nihil novum sub sole or there is nothing new under the sun.
